Mrs. Sophia Leong
Director Owner (BA Honors, MA, RTS, LRAD)
The Saint Albert Ballet Academy is proud to present Sophia Leong (BA Honors, MA, RTS, LRAD)
as its ballet instructor. Sophia trained at the College of the Royal Academy of Dance in London,
England. After studying such subjects as Classical Ballet Technique, Anatomy, Psychology,
Choreography, Dance History, Répertoire, Music for Ballet, Laban Notation as well as
continuing her own ballet training at the Royal Academy of Dance for three years; Sophia
received the ballet teaching qualifications of BA Honors Degree in the Art of Ballet and fully
registered RAD teaching status. Sophia was also awarded the highly coveted Licentiateship of
the RAD.
Sophia became fully qualified to teach in 1998, but had several years experience before and
during her attendance at the College. She has successfully taught classes in both the UK and
Canada, and has completed an MA in Ballet Studies at the University of Surrey, Roehampton,
London, England. Sophia strongly believes that studying ballet at such advanced levels
provides her with an understanding beyond a general certification, which in turn, enables her to
offer well structured, safe, and enjoyable classes to her students. Sophia continues her training with
continued professional development courses provided by the Royal Academy of Dance and other dance
institutions each year.
Sophia has extensive experience of the day-to-day running of ballet schools, entering children
for the Royal Academy of Dance examinations (where all of her students entered have been
successful), as well as directing and choreographing ballet productions. Sophia has directed
and choreographed children’s productions of ‘The Nutcracker’ ,' Alice in Wonderland', 'The Littlest
Mermaid', 'The 12 Dancing Princesses', and 'The Adventures of Mulan' as
well as producing and choreographing many recitals.
Sophia looks forward to meeting you and your children at the Saint Albert Ballet Academy.
We are pleased to announce the arrival of Ms. Heather Cave to St. Albert Ballet Academy. Ms. Cave
will be teaching at our school in the New Year. We are most fortunate to have such a highly qualified

Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Ms. Cave. To learn more about Ms. Cave, please
