Ballroom and Latin
Ballroom & Latin Dance Classes offered at the St. Albert Ballet Academy by Joanne Hood will
introduce you to a variety of dances including:
Waltz: America’s Dance of Romance. Very popular with wedding couples
Tango: The Fiery Dance of Passion is the man’s dance with sharp aggressive movements
Foxtrot: The North American Social Dance is usually played as the first dance of the evening.
Chacha: Latin American Dance of Flirtation has staccato sharp steps and lots of rhythm
changes.
Rumba: Latin American Dance of Romance has long posing lines with sensual movements.
Swing: North American Fun Dance introduces the three different rhythms of swing, triple,
double & single, and then combines them to introduce the West Coast Swing.
Mambo: Latin American Street Dance with fast sharp staccato movements danced to a lot of
today’s beats
Learn these ballroom and Latin dances and more in a fun, relaxed atmosphere in St. Albert,
